Government houses abandoned for over a decade

Two huge concrete houses at Dakphey, which falls along the highway between Zhemgang and Tingtibi, have been left to rot for one reason or another by the Food Corporation of Bhutan and the Dzongkhag Authority. Located 22 kilometres away from Zhemgang, these houses have eight rooms including two big storage rooms.

Fifth De-Suung training begins

Hundred and sixteen volunteers are taking part in the fifth De-Suung training programme at military training centre at Tencholing in Wangduephodrang. The volunteers include employees from government and private sectors and the graduates.

The Punakha police have arrested a 20-year-old man for allegedly killing his 22-year-old friend. The suspect was arrested from Punakha on September 30.

Two storied house razed to the ground in Trongsa

A two storied traditional house in Draagteng gewog under Trongsa Dzongkhag was razed to the ground today. Three people also suffered minor burns from the fire which is said to have stared at around 7 am.

Training on artificial insemination in cattle

Livestock extension officials from Zhemgang and Sarpang are being trained to perform artificial insemination in cattle. The two-week training, funded by the Rural Livelihood Project, is being held at the Rural Development Training Centre in Zhemgang.

Dearth of quality stone impedes construction of Lhakhang Kaap

Difficulty in getting quality stones is hampering the reconstruction of Lhakhang Kaap in Haa. The renovation works are being carried out in four phases. The first two phases have been completed and the third phase is underway.
