ACC freezes land transactions

In a follow up to the investigation report by the Anti-Corruption Commission on Gyalpoizhing land allotment, ACC has released the names of individuals and institutions notifying them that the land they own in Gyalpoizhing shall be frozen against any transaction with immediate effect.

Dzongkhalum Bridge collapses

A part of the Dzongkhalum Bridge collapsed yesterday while a trailer carrying a crane was crossing the bridge. Dzongkhalum Bridge is about 11 kilometres away from Trongsa towards Zhemgang.

Cadastral resurvey underway in Sarpang

Human-wildlife conflict continues in Bartsham

Human-wildlife conflict is forcing people to abandon their houses and agricultural land in Bartsham gewog under Trashigang Dzongkhag. Currently around 50 percent of the houses are empty and land fallow in the gewog.

School closed after 233 students fell sick

Chargharey Lower Secondary School in Samtse remained closed today after 233 students suffered from Acute Respiratory Infection (ARI) like symptoms. The students were suffering from dry cough, chills and were shivering. More than 244 students had complained about some illness. While 233 students had ARI like symptoms, the rest were suffering from stomach ache and diarrhoea.
