RDTC- A training centre for school leavers and farmers

Trained over 1,500 school leavers and farmers, the Rural Development Training Centre (RDTC) in Zhemgang is becoming an attractive farm business skills training institution. It was established in 2007. The centre provides short-term courses to school leavers and farmers across the country.

Vehicle orders gone down

The number of customers buying vehicles has gone done drastically. According to the vehicle dealers in the country this follows the suspension of place order for vehicles by the Royal Monetary Authority. It was suspended during the second week of March as a measure to address the Rupee crunch in the country.

Raidak-Lhamoizhingkha Highway construction might slow down?

Construction of the Raidak-Lhamoizingkha National Highway is in full swing. Works began in October last year. About 10 kilometres of the formation cutting is complete and support structures for one of the two bridges are taking shape. But the construction company said work progress might slow down. The reason again, Rupee shortage. The impact was first felt when they ran out of fuel stock for running their machinery. For about two weeks last month, the works were stalled.

Car hits a boy of Damphu LSS, parents raise safety concern

Parents and teachers of Damphu Lower Secondary School in Tsirang are worried about the safety of their children. The increasing number of vehicles is posing a risk to the safety of the students. This week a boy was hit by a car while trying to cross the road to get to school. Fortunately, the boy suffered no major injuries but it has left both the parents and teachers worried.
