Only one Dzongkha teacher for Nobding LSS

Nobding Lower Secondary School in Wangdue Phodrang is faced with shortage of Dzongkha teacher. For the school with about 400 students it has just one trained Dzongkha teacher.  To assist him, two English teachers volunteered to teach Dzongkha in lower classes.

Tingtibi-Wangdigang bypass road open to traffic

After much controversy and issues, the Tingtibi–Wangdigang bypass road in Zhemgang has been finally handed over to the Department of Roads. The construction of Tingtibi- Wangdigang bypass road in Zhemgang started in 2008. The construction works were delayed due to various issues. The 16-kilometre road was complete in 2010.

Fourteen-year old Dorji from the National Institute for Disabled (NID), Khaling, emerged as the winner of the reality show, Little Stars. The grand finale was held yesterday. He took home a cash prize of Nu. 150,000.

Election Commission preparing for 2013

Wangchhu highly contaminated at Babesa

The Wangchhu in Thimphu is highly contaminated at Babesa. This was found while assessing the water quality of the river at three different points. The river assessment was carried out by the Environment Managers, Civil Engineers, and mid-level technicians from different agencies. Factories, industries, leakage of oil and grease from the automobile workshops, dumping waste in the rivers are the main factors contributing towards the river pollution.
