New Lopen appointed

Representative of His Holiness the Je Khenpo, Dorji Lopen appointed a new Lopen at Druk Sangacholing Dratshang at Darjeeling in India and the new secretary general of Zhung Dratshang at Tashichhodzong, this morning.

Lopen Sangay, 35, is appointed as the new Lopen of Druk Sangacholing Dratshang at Darjeeling in India.

Lopen Sangay, who is from Wangdue Phodrang, joined the monk body at the age of eight.

Prior to his current appointment, he was serving as the principal of the Talog Sherda in Punakha.

Lopen Pema Gyeltshen, 46, also from Wangdue Phodrang, is appointed as the new secretary general of the Zhung Dratshang.

He joined the Zhung Dratshang in 1988.

Prior to his present appointment, he served as the head of the Tensum Division of the Zhung Dratshang.
