The National Land Commission, NLC, plans to complete the issuance of the new lag thrams or land title certificates in all the Dzongkhags by the end of this year. The Secretary of the Commission said that public should know that there are lots of processes involved to generate new lag thrams. “It has to go through series of process in validation. In field also, once the field survey has been done, surveyor and the land owner in the presence of site tshogpa and local elders must validate.
“In field there are check and balances also. We don’t give it to individuals to complete the process. So while in field, is different issue, once it comes to National Land Commission for generation of Lag thram, there are many processes,” explains the Secretary, Pema Chewang.
