The newly appointed Indian Ambassador to Bhutan, Gautam Bambawale presented his credentials to His Majesty the King at the Tashichhodzong, today.
Ambassador Gautam Bambawale joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1984. Prior to his current appointment, he served as External Affairs Joint Secretary in-charge of the East Asia Division, which includes China and Japan.

Described as the “China Expert”, he served many years in Beijing and Hong Kong.
He is also known as US-India Affairs Specialist and has served as Minister and Head of the Political Wing at the Indian Embassy in the United States.
He also served as Director of the Indian Cultural Centre in Berlin, Germany.
