The National Council today unanimously ratified two international agreements. They are Paris Agreement on environment protection and conservation and Agreement on Trade, Commerce and Transit between Bhutan and India.

The Paris agreement will strengthen Bhutan’s contribution to the global fight against climate change. And the Trade Agreement will promote and facilitate trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

The agreement will also provide additional exit or entry points for Bhutan’s trade with other countries. The two agreements will now be submitted to His Majesty for the Royal assent.
