Over 20 national scholars took part in a three-day colloquium, which started in Paro, today. The 7th colloquium themed, “Culture and Environment” is organised by the National Museum.
During the three-day event, the participants will present their research findings on topics ranging from diminishing cultures to Buddhist perceptions of nature.
The National Museum’s Director, Khenpo Phuntsok Tashi said the colloquium is to help preserve and promote culture and environment. He said the proceedings of the colloquium will also be compiled and published.
The publications will be distributed to schools and institutions among others.
The first colloquium on “dawn and early history of Bhutan” was held in 1997.
