The National Assembly today adopted the Budget Appropriation Bill for Financial Year 2021-2022 of more than Nu 80bn. Of the total, capital expenditure is at 48 per cent and the recurrent expenditure is 44 per cent. The rest is for repayment and on-lending.
During the next financial year, Social Services which includes health and education have been given the highest budget allocation. Along with it, the Supplementary Budget Appropriation Bill for the Financial Year 2020-2021 of more than Nu 76bn was also passed. Both the Bills will be forwarded as a Money Bill to the National Council for deliberation.
