An appeal letter sent by a group of taxi drivers, who are driving electric cars, was discussed in the National Assembly, today. A member of Opposition, MP Dupthob asked about the government’s intervention, the drivers are seeking.
The appeal letter says the vehicles are falling short of guarantee. They were told an electric car would run about 140 kilometres on full charge. However, they say it runs only to about 50-80 kilometres.
The information and communications’ minister, DN Dhungyel such matters should be discussed with the dealers first. “Only then they should approach the government.” He also said the government has not looked into the matter yet.
Of the six taxi drivers using electric vehicle, four had appealed the Prime Minister.
