NA adopts Fiscal Incentives (Amendment) Bill of Bhutan 2020

The Fiscal Incentives (Amendment) Bill of Bhutan 2020 is adopted by the National Assembly today after accepting the recommendation from the Economic and Finance Committee to put the Bill into force “retroactively” from Income Year 2019.

The House adopted the Amendment Bill with 40 Yes votes and 1 Abstain vote out of 41 members.

Similarly, the National Assembly ratified the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) Convention on cooperation in combating international terrorism, transnational organized crime and illicit trafficking today.

The Vice-Chairperson of the Human Rights and Foreign Relations Committee, Tenzin, the member of parliament of  Khatoed Laya presented the revised paragraph of the introduction of article 6(C)of the BIMSTEC convention in Dzongkha text.

The house supported the revision made by the committee through a majority show of hands. The Minister for Foreign Affairs moved the motion to ratify the Convention.
