The National Assembly members acknowledged all the people involved in rescuing relics and for their contribution in containing the fire at Wangduephodrang Dzong, on Sunday. The members particularly expressed gratitude to His Majesty and the Gyaltsuen for personally overseeing the firefighting efforts.
A total of 16 truckloads of relics have been recovered. On behalf of the National Assembly, MP Gyem Dorji expressed gratitude to all the people for their unprecedented effort in rendering their support and cooperation.
Some of the members said, the incident is a wake call for everyone. The works and human settlement minister, Yeshey Zimba said there is a need for a lot to be done to avoid such misfortune in future. “The government will put infrastructure through various means,” said the minister.
