MoU between the Drukair and BOC renewed

As the official carrier of the Bhutan Olympic Committee, the Drukair Corporation Limited will continue to provide a 50% discount on all airfares to all BOC officials and athletes. This is as per the 3rd Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) renewed between the Drukair Corporation Limited and the Bhutan Olympic Committee, today.

The discount however will only be applicable for the months of January, February, July, and August. And For the rest of the months, a 30% discount will be provided. The discounts are applicable for both Economy and Business classes, for all official travels.

Speaking at the renewal of the MoU, the Chief Executive Officer of the Drukair, Tandi Wangchuk said that Drukair will continue to support the committee and its officials and athletes.

As per the MoU, all BOC officials and athletes will be entitled to 10 kilograms of additional excess baggage. The Drukair Corporation Limited will also provide cargo up to 150 kilograms for transportation of sports equipment and items.

And in the event BOC wishes to charter Drukair for any sports events, Drukair shall provide the best charter rates for the BOC athletes and officials.

In return, the Bhutan Olympic Committee, shall regard Drukair Corporation Limited as its official carrier and use its services for the travel of its officials and athletes. Likewise, BOC shall also provide the DCL football team with free access to the artificial turf football ground at Paro, once a week.

Since the first MoU signing between the two parties, almost 2,000 BOC officials and athletes have been benefited from the agreement. The renewable, MoU shall be effective from 1st July, this year.

The first MoU between the two parties was signed in 2016.
