Miscommunication among the officials of the bordering town of Jaigaon in India led to the closure of entry gates for 40 minutes in Phuentshogling yesterday.
The sudden closure of gates at around 8:30 PM had not only resulted in overcrowding in the Bhutanese town but also led to panic. Moreover, some resorted to spreading rumours online stating Jaigaon reported a positive case of coronavirus disease.
As per sources, there is no report of positive case in Jaigaon as of now, and the gates are open as usual.
