A 43-year-old man is currently undergoing treatment at the Wangdichholing hospital in Bumthang after he was mauled by a bear. The incident took place last morning when the victim and his two friends were collecting cordyceps at Dedrup in Chhoekhor Gewog.
After the attack, the victim’s friends immediately rushed him to an army camp at Khagtang to treat his face and head. This morning, he was admitted to the Wangdichholing hospital.
According to the doctor, the victim sustained several cuts on the head, face and the left hand. The victim received 19 stitches on the head, face and on his left hand.
The doctor says the victim will recover within a week’s time. The hospital attended a similar case two months ago.
