The Pema Gatshel’s Dzongkhag Election Dispute Settlement Body (DEDSB) has fined a man from Nangkor village of Shumar Gewog for blaming and criticizing DNT’s president and supporters.
The DNT party coordinator and supporters lodged a complaint against the man, alleging him of speaking ill of DNT in a WeChat group.
The DEDSB, upon investigation, found the allegations to be true. The body concluded the act breaches electoral laws and imposed a fine of Nu 6,450, which is equivalent to a month’s national minimum daily wage.
He has also been warned not to repeat such acts.
