The Narcotic Drug and Law Enforcement Unit of Phuentshogling Police detained a 25-year-old man from Pema Gatshel in connection with illegal possession of controlled substances.
The accused was intercepted at the Rinchendhing check-post on Monday at around 8.15 PM, after a tip-off. The contraband substance was concealed inside a black bag at the back of the taxi he was travelling in. He was headed for Thimphu and confessed that it was for self-consumption.
This year, till date, 93 such cases have been registered with the Narcotic Drug and Law Enforcement Unit of Phuentshogling Police.
