Man detained for hit-and-run case

A 31-year-old civil servant is under Thimphu police custody for allegedly involved in a hit-and-run case, Saturday evening. The suspect is accused to have runaway after hitting a 10-year-old student.

The incident took place at a zebra crossing near Changlimithang’s children park. The girl was hit when she was trying to cross the road with her three-year-old sister.

According to the police, the suspect was under the influence of alcohol during the incident. Police said the suspect will be imposed fine and may have to bear expenses for the treatment .

Once the investigation is over, the police will forward the case to the court.
