Another major M 7.3 temblor struck Eastern Nepal two weeks after more than 8,000 died in a devastating quake. Its ripple was felt as far away as New Delhi including Bangladesh and Bhutan.
People across Thimphu were seen coming out of their buildings when the ripple was felt. International media reported more than 29 people died near the epicentre of the earthquake while thousands were reported injured.
The epicenter was 82 kilometers away from Kathmandu in a place called Namche Bazar in rural Nepal. Within 90 seconds, around 5 aftershocks followed the M 7.3 quake measuring between 4 to 6 on the Richter.
In Lingzhi, in Northern Bhutan, a small portion of a classroom wall, which was temporarily used as a storeroom, collapsed during the quake.
Meanwhile, the department of disaster management said except for a few minor cracks, no major damages were reported in the country.
