The members of the World Health Committee unanimously elected the Health Minister, Zangley Dukpa, to chair ‘Committee A’ meeting during the 65th World Health Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland. Committee A is one of the two main committees of the World Health Assembly.
The committee will over the five days discuss universal health coverage, millennium development goals, non-communicable diseases and mental disorders among others.
Delegates from the 194 member countries of the WHO, participants from the UN Organisation, NGOs and pharmaceutical companies are attending the World Health Assembly.
