Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi commented that Bhutan would be a powerful nation if all hydro power projects are completed on time. He had met Bhutan’s Prime Minister, Tshering Tobgay on the sidelines of the SAARC summit in Nepal’s capital, Kathmandu, yesterday.
The two leaders also discussed other issues of mutual concerns to further boost the special ties between Bhutan and India.
During the Bilateral meeting, Bhutan was represented by the foreign and communications ministers along with other diplomats. India’s External Affairs Minister was also present with Prime Minister Modi.
Narendra Modi also invited Lyonchhen to visit Gujarat during the biennial investors’ summit, in January next year.
Lyonchhen also met Nepal’s Prime Minister Sushil Koiral, President of Afghanistan, Dr. Mohammad Ashrif Ghani and the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.
