Although renovation of the Lhuentse Dzong is in full swing officials expressed concerns that it may not be able to complete on time. The work is expected to complete in June 2013. The Dzong was severely affected by the September 21 earthquake in 2009.
Only about 60 percent of the works are complete right now. Lack of skilled labourers is cited as the major problem, according to the Dzongda, Tshering Kelzang.
He added that the renovation works are being carried out without compromising any of the regular administrative works in the Dzongkhag.
The renovation is done with financial support from the Government of India with the cost of about Nu. 160 million.
Named as Lhundrup Rinchentse Dzong it built in 1654.
