The latest verdicts and summary judgments on Gyalpoizhing land case say the land will have to be restituted as it violates His Majesty’s Kaja. The Monggar District Court passed ten verdicts and two summary judgments on Gyalpoizhing land case yesterday and today.
The verdicts also say some had breached the agreement notification issued by the government in 1991. The 1991 notification states that the recipients will have to construct a house within one year after receiving the land. It goes on to say that failing to adhere to the notification will result in the restitution of the land.
Including yesterday’s, the Monggar District Court has passed 35 verdicts on Gyalpoizhing land restitution case.
In the meantime, the 12 committee members have paid compensation in lieu of imprisonment terms. A few committee members are yet to be summoned as the court has been unable to locate their addresses.
