A landowner in Bangay under Phuentshogling has placed huge stones, boulders, and mud in the middle of a Gewog Centre Road deliberating blocking it. Her action has led to the closure of the road since Tuesday. The road connects Phuentshogling town and Loggchina.

Speaking to BBS, the landowner said the road passes through her land. She said the Phuentshogling Gup had assured her the road was only temporary. The GC road was constructed in 2012.

The landowner said she wouldn’t want to part with her land as her children would need it in the future.

She said she had even warned the gewog several times.

A committee of officials from dungkhag, thromde, gewog and police has decided to clear the block tomorrow.
