Kholongchhu Hydroelectric Project is investigating the alleged damages the project caused in Koenchholing Village of Trashi Yangtse.

A group of experts from Druk Green Power Corporation (DGPC) yesterday examined the vibration of the blasting in and around the houses, which were said to have suffered damages.

The vibration and sound wave measurements were carried out with a blasting on the other side. The test was also done when heavy vehicles used the road. The houses are located a few metres away from the highway.

Until today, three tests have been conducted at the sites. Kholongchhu Project has also marked all the alleged cracks with red paint.

In mid of last year, about 30 households complained that cracks have developed on the walls of their houses following blasting at the project site. Koenchholing is located opposite to the project site.

Kholongchhu Project officials said, they will compensate the affected houses if the allegations are found to be true. The results of the tests are yet to be out.
