JPLP tax evasion case hearing deferred Phuentshogling Dungkhag Court has deferred the hearing of the JPLP tax evasion case. The hearing was supposed to be held today.

According to Chhukha Drangpon, Gembo Dorji, the Anti-Corruption Commission and the Office of Attorney General did not provide the data requested by the defendant’s legal representative.

However the Office of the Attorney General said they did not get the data from the Anti-Corruption Commission. ACC says the data were printed and made available.

Meanwhile, the Anti-Corruption Commission also said they are not sure what the defendant’s legal representative is looking for. The commission will explain to the court why they cannot give everything, they said.

Last month, the court ordered the Office of the Attorney General to give the data to the legal representative of JPLP. The legal representative had said, without the data, it was not possible to defend. Until then, the court is not sure when the next hearing will be conducted.

JPLP is charged for tax evasion worth over Nu 184 M in the last four years.
