The four-day forest fire in Jarey Gewog under Lhuentse District has burnt through 200-acre of chir pine forest, which is managed by the community.
The forest officials said the fire broke out on Monday (April 16) afternoon, after a tree fell on electric wire and caused short circuit.
However, the fire was put out on same day but kindled from the debris next day. Around 40 foresters, dzongkhag officials, DeSuups and the locals are battling the blaze that has been raging for the third day today.
Rugged terrain and strong winds are hampering their efforts to contain the fire.
