The indigenous hospital unit in Punakha has become the latest attraction site in the Dzongkhag. At the heart of the hospital’s attraction is Langdug or the herbal steaming facility that was started in August last year. Till date, the unit received close to a thousand patients.

Dungtsho Nidup says patients suffering from arthritis, neuritis, paralysis of limbs, severe headaches, or nose infection visits the unit for herbal steaming. “Herbal treatment has proven effective for many patients,” he says.

At present, the unit has an herbal steam room, a Dungtsho’s chamber, a dispensary counter and a store room.
