India’s PM arrives in Bhutan

PMModi-BhutanThe Prime Minister, Tshering Tobgay, received the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, who arrived in the country, this morning. India’s Prime Minister was presented a guard of honour.

Mr. Modi said Bhutan was a natural choice as his first choice to visit abroad as Prime Minister given the special relationship the two countries enjoy. “Relations with Bhutan will be a key foreign policy priority of my government,” said Prime Minister Modi.PMModi-Bhutan.

Prime Minister Modi will receive an audience with His Majesty the King later this afternoon. He will also inaugurate the newly constructed Supreme Court building.

Later in the evening, the LyonchenTsheringTobgay will host a banquet in honour of the Prime Minister Modi.

Tomorrow, Prime Minister Modi will address the Joint Sitting of the Parliament and will also lay the foundation stone of the 600 MW Kholongchu Hydropower Project.
