Paro District Court sentenced four men of Indian origin to six months imprisonment each for attempting to smuggle gold. They were apprehended in May, this year, by the custom officials at the Paro International Airport. Since then, they have been under police custody.
They were also charged for aiding and abetting the crime. The court, however, granted an option for the defendants to pay in lieu of the prison terms.
