Impressive participation overloaded Druk Trace App and SMS systems in the second Lucky Draw trial

An overwhelming number of people participated in yesterday’s Lucky Draw trial, according to the Facebook post of theNational Day team. Both the Druk Trace App and SMS systems were overloaded due to this. As a result, a large number of people were not able to successfully scan or send SMS and yesterday’s Lucky Draw trial got cancelled.

The lucky draw team via Facebook mentioned, “While this means that the trial did not work according to plan, we consider it a success because it is exactly the sort of problem we want to fix before National Day. Our technical team is now working to reinforce the systems based on what we have learnt today.”

The next Lucky Draw trial will be held on Monday, 14th December. QR Codes and 4-letter code will be shown during the 7 pm and 8 pm news.

Meanwhile, youth below 18 years of age can also register themselves for the National Day Lucky Draw after acquiring Citizenship Identity card number from their respective community centres.

“There are two ways where they can access their CID number. They can either go to a community centre or get their family tree or temporarily we have made portals available where they can enter their parent’s ID number and their date of birth and get it.  First of all, they can get their CID number from the portal which is go to www.druktrace.gov.bt and get the link where you can enter your parent’s ID card number and their date of birth to get their ID number. Then they can register by either downloading the Druk Trace App,” said Phuntsho Gayenden, the senior manager at the Royal Society for STEM.

After obtaining their CID number, youths can register via the Druk Trace App. The register option can be found in the account tab in the updated app. If Druk Trace App is not available, they can also register by sending an SMS Reg CID to 1907. One needs to register only once. If the registration for the first trial was successful, no need to do it again.
