MoIC-Minister-NewTaxiBoomdeling-Jamkhar MP, Dupthob asked the Minister for Information and communications, DN Dhungyel when will the government allow the import of taxi vehicles.

He said the suspension has badly affected the livelihood of many taxi drivers as new taxi vehicles needs to replace the old ones after nine years on the road.

Lyonpo DN Dhungyel said besides Thimphu and Phuentshogling, other Road Safety and Transport Authority regional offices allow the registration of new taxis. However, BBS found out that none of three regional offices in Gelepghu, Samdrup Jongkhar and Monggar register new taxi vehicles.
