HRH Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck at the 135th Session of the IOC, Switzerland

His Royal Highness Prince Jigyel Ugyen Wangchuck, President of the Bhutan Olympic Committee attended the 135th Session of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) last week in Lausanne, Switzerland.

During the six-day visit to Lausanne, His Royal Highness met with Mr Thomas Bach, President of the IOC and Mr Pere Miro, Dy. Director-General of the IOC. During the meeting, President of the IOC and His Royal Highness discussed the future of e-sports and Bhutan’s remarkable qualification for both the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games for the first time ever.

His Royal Highness was also appointed to the Sustainability and Legacy Commission of the IOC by the President of the IOC. His Royal Highness is now one of the 35 members of the Sustainability and Legacy Commission, which advises the IOC Session, the IOC Executive Board and the IOC President on sustainability and legacy matters.
