The Home and Cultural Affairs Minister, Minjur Dorji, launched two books, Architecture Heritage Journal 2 and Damage Assessment of Rammed Earth Buildings- After the September 18, 2011 Earthquake, in Thimphu today.
Architecture Heritage Journal 2 is the second volume published by the Division for Conservation of Heritage Sites under Department of Culture. The book reviews the heritage conservation projects executed during the 10th Five Year Plan. It also reviews the recovery and reconstruction projects following the September 21, 2009 earthquake.
The other book, Damage Assessment of Rammed Earth Buildings- After the September 18, 2011 Earthquake is intended to contribute to understanding the various types of damages that different buildings in a particular geographical location has sustained. It also provides an overview of the performance of the rammed earth building during the earthquake.
