Home minister leads delegation for SAARC Ministers’ meeting

The Home and Cultural Affairs Minister, Minjur Dorji, is leading the Bhutanese delegation to the fifth meeting of the SAARC Ministers of Interior or Home, in the capital of the Maldives, Male today.

The meeting will be held on Wednesday after the meeting of the SAARC Secretaries of Interior or Home and the meeting of the SAARC Immigration Authorities.

The meeting will discuss on the follow-up action of the decisions made during the fourth meeting held in Thimphu. The delegates will consider and endorse the report of the 10th SAARC Conference on Cooperation in Police Matters, Fifth Meeting of the Focal Points of SAARC Terrorist Offence Monitoring Desk and SAARC Drugs Offence Monitoring Desk which were held in New Delhi in May this year.

They will also discuss on the action taken to implement the SAARC Convention on Suppression of Terrorism and the SAARC Convention on Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances.

The meeting of the SAARC Secretaries is led by the Secretary of Home and Cultural Affairs Ministry, Tshering Dorji, and the Director, Department of Immigration for the Meeting of the SAARC Immigration Authorities.
