His Majesty The King granted Dhar to the newly appointed Dzongdas of Trongsa, Tsirang and Zhemgang, and the Cabinet Secretary at the Tashichhodzong today.
Fifty-year-old Tenzin Dorji is the new Trongsa Dzongda. He was the previously the Secretary of the Bhutan Council for School Examinations and Assessment (BCSEA). He started his career as a teacher in Drugyel High School in 1994.
Forty eight-year-old Pema, the former Executive Secretary of Gelephu Thromde, has been appointed as Tsirang Dzongda. He started his career as an Assistant Director of Forests in 1998. He has also served as Dzongrab in Chhukha, Dagana and Wangdue Phodrang.
Zhemgang’s new Dzongda is 46-year-old Lobzang, who was formerly the Director of Secretariat Services with the Cabinet Secretariat. He started his career as a Senior Auditor with the Royal Institute of Management (RIM) in 1998.
Kesang Wangdi, the former Director General of the Department of Bilateral Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is now the Cabinet Secretary.
In accordance with Article 2.19 of the Constitution of the Kingdom of Bhutan, His Majesty The King appoints Secretaries and Dzongdas on the recommendation of the prime minister.
The prime minister obtains nominations from the Royal Civil Service Commission (RCSC) on the basis of merit and seniority and in accordance with other relevant rules and regulations.
