His Majesty the King granted an audience to the President of Asian Development Bank (ADB) Haruhiko Kuroda today. He arrived in the Kingdom yesterday on a three day official visit.

The delegation will be visiting some of the ADB financed projects to get a first-hand feel of the impact of the ADB’s assistance on the life of Bhutanese people.

The ADB, based in Manila in the Philippines, is dedicated to reducing poverty in Asia and the Pacific through inclusive and environmentally sustainable economic growth and regional co-operation.

The areas of co-operation in Bhutan are focused on transport and roads, urban infrastructure, energy including rural electrification and financial and private sectors.
