His Majesty the King granted an audience to the Chief of Army Staff of India, General Dalbir Singh Suhag today. This is general’s first international visit after taking charge in July this year.
His first international visit to Bhutan after taking office symbolises the special relationship that Indian and Bhutanese armies share.
Upon arrival at the courtyard of the Tashichhodzong, the general was presented with guard of honour by the Royal Body Guards.
His Majesty the King then granted an audience to the General at the throne room. This visit also confirms India’s priorities in supporting Bhutan.
The army’s Chief Operations Officer, Lt. General Batoo Tshering also met General Dalbir Singh and discussed issues of mutual interests.
The General was on a three-day visit to Bhutan. He arrived in the country on Friday.
