His Majesty graces Bajo Lhakhang’s consecration ceremony

His Majesty graces Bajo Lhakhang’s consecration ceremonyHis Majesty the King and His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo graced the consecration ceremony of the Bajo Lhakhang in Wangdue Phodrang, yesterday. The consecration ceremony was presided over by His Holiness the Je Khenpo.

The Lhakhang was consecrated to commemorate the 60th birth anniversary of His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo. It was built under the patronage of Yab Dasho Ugyen Dorji. The Nagnten or the main relic of the Lhakhang is the statue of Chenrizig or Avalokiteshvara.

After the ceremony, the Lhakhang was handed over to the community of Thetsho Gewog in Wangdue Phodrang. The Lhakhang was built at the cost of Nu.25 MN.
Later in the day, thousands of people gathered at the Lhakhang to offer tshogchang to His Majesty the King.

His Majesty the King and His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalp offered Tokha to the people gathered at the lhakhang.

Her Majesty the Gyaltsuen, Queen Mothers, and other members of the royal family were present at the consecration ceremony.

The Prime Minister, Tshering Tobgay, Cabinet Ministers, Members of Parliament and senior government officials also attended the ceremony.
