His Holiness the Je Khenpo consecrated the Thubten Choeling Lhakhang in Wangdue Phodrang’s Gase Tshogom Gewog, today. The monastery known as the seat of Lam Changdhue Drakpa was built in the 15th century. The restoration works on the worn-out lhakhang began in 2019 led by the former Tshogki Lopen, Dorji Rinchen.

The former Tshogki Lopen contributed 70 per cent of the total budget of 110-million-ngultrum required for the restoration project. 20 per cent was met through foreign donors and the government contributed the remaining amount.
