His Holiness the Je Khenpo appoints two new Lam Netens

Coinciding with the 113th National Day, His Holiness the Je Khenpo conferred Khadar to the newly appointed Lam Netens of Bumthang and Samdrup Jongkhar at Punakha Dzong today.

56-year-old Lam Kinley Penjor from Nubi Gewog in Trongsa is the new Lam Neten of Bumthang. He joined the monastic school at the age of nine in Trongsa Dratshang. After completing his studies, he served as the Principal of the same Dratshang for seven years. He then received teachings from His Holiness the late Je Thrizur and His Holiness the Je Khenpo. Prior to his current appointment, he served as a Bumde Lam at Trongsa Dratshang.
And the new Samdrup Jongkhar Lam Neten is 47-year-old Lam Dorji. He joined the monk body at the age of eight in Wangdue Phodrang Dratshang. He completed his studies from Tango University of Buddhist Studies. He served as a teacher and then underwent retreat at Cheri Monastery in Thimphu. Prior to his current appointment, he served as the Principal of Talo Shedra in Punakha.
