His Holiness the Je Khenpo consecrated Dozhong Drongyuel Choedhey Goenpa popularly known as Dozhong Goenpa at Tsaenkhar in Lhuentse on April 20.

The institute with 30 monks was established this year.

Upon the command of His Holiness the Je Khenpo, the construction of a 12-unit hostel for monks, residence for lam and lopon, kitchen and dining hall started in 2015. It was completed in 2017.

The government spent nearly Nu 60 M for the project.

“We will soon start teaching astrology to our monks. The government has also provided the infrastructure that can accommodate retired monks who have served dratshang and above 60 years old,” Tshewang Jamtsho, the Institute’s Principal, said.

The institute has a hostel which will serve as an old-age home for monks. At present, there are two retired monks from Trashi Yangtse in the Goenpa.

Later in the afternoon, His Holiness also administered lifelong blessing to the public.
