His Holiness the Je Khenpo consecrated the biggest Terchen Dorji Lingpa Thongdrel of the country in Bumthang, yesterday. The Thongdrel is 45 feet tall and 41 feet wide.
Thousands gathered at Chhumig’s Buli Goenpa to offer prayers, receive blessings and be part of the event. People from as far as Zhemgang and Trongsa attended the event.
Buli Goenpa was founded in the late 13th century. It was later extended in the early 20th century. Several restorations and renovations of the Goenpa have been carried out.
