A seven-day Hindu Meonlam Chenmo began at Setikharey in Gelephu today. About 18 pundits and pujaris led by Pundit Dr. Nirola are performing “Srimat Bhagwat Mahapuran” peace prayer.
Communication minister, Nanda Lal Rai, along with other members of parliament and dignitaries graced the opening of the prayer.
According to the organiser, the Hindu prayer is performed to create awareness and responsibility towards peace and stability in the country, among others.
Hundreds of devotees from Samtse, Tsirang and Dagana are attending the week-long peace prayer.
