The High court upheld the judgement of Haa district court in regards to attempt to voluntary manslaughter and battery involving 29 year-old Tandin from Samdrup Jongkhar and 33 year-old Sonam Dorji from Haa.
The court passed the judgement on Wednesday. Earlier Haa court sentenced Tandin to almost 5 years for stabbing Sonam Dorji thrice on his right shoulder with a knife. According to the verdict, the victim has assaulted the convict in Chamgang prison in the past. Hence, the victim was also sentenced to a compoundable prison term of almost two months for battery.
