His Holiness the Je Khenpo is presiding over a week-long Sangay Menlha Drupchen at Namdroling Goenzin Dratshang in Lhuentse beginning today. This year’s Drupchen is being performed for people affected by the pandemic across the world.

His Holiness is performing the drubchen along with one hundred monks. It is also being performed to pay tribute to His Majesty the King and the Prime Minister for their tireless efforts in combating the pandemic.

His Holiness also presided over a daylong smoke offering yesterday to prevent the number of suicide cases across the globe. In line with this, His Holiness also issued a Kasho on December 14.

Between 2018 and 2020, more than 200 Bhutanese died by suicide.
