HH Je Khenpo appoints new Principal of Phajodhing Shedra

His Holiness the Je Khenpo appointed the new Principal of Phajodhing Shedra at the Tashichhoedzong, today. His Holiness also launched the Central Monastic Body’s first magazine.

His Holiness conferred Dhar to 37-year-old Lam Rinzin from Paro, the new head of Phajodhing Shedra.

Lam Rinzin joined monkhood at the age of nine in the Dechenphodrang Monastic School. For five years he studied at the Semtokha Shedra.

He continued his education at the Tango University of Buddhist Studies for five years. After that, he underwent retreat at the Cheri Monastery under the guidance of the late 68th Je Khenpo Tenzin Doendrup and other great scholars. Prior to his current position, he was the Vice Principal of the Phojodhing Shedra for years.

His Holiness the Je Khenpo also launched the first Magazine of the Zhung Dratshang in commemoration of 400 years since the establishment of the institution by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. The magazine contains the developments and transformations in the Zhung Dratshang through 60 senior lopens and monks.
