Gyalpoizhing-committee-members-HearingThe preliminary hearing on Gyalpoizhing Land case for some of the allotment committee members was held at Monggar District Court today.

The committee members who presented themselves for the preliminary hearing were the Former Dzongrab Tapo, who was the committee Vice chairperson, Tashi Norbu Sherpa, CL Das and Sangay Dorji.

According to the Anti-Corruption Commission’s submission, all of them fall under official misconduct for allotting the land to those who do not fulfill the required criteria.

Except for Sangay Dorji, the open statement for rest of the committee members is scheduled for January 3.

Dechen Singye who was charged under criminal offence along with the Home Minister and the Speaker also submitted an open statement to the court.

Dechen Singye defended that he did not do any favour to acquire land to his sister but added that his wife represented to pick up the lucky-dip.

His next hearing is also scheduled for January 3.
