Govt. gets Excise Duty Refund claim of almost Nu 3bn

Bhutan received Excise Duty Refund claim of about Nu 3bn from the Government of India (GoI) in Thimphu today.

The refund constitutes about 10 percent of the total revenue for the financial year 2016-17.

The Indian Government refunds excise duty annually as per the bilateral trade and transit agreement.GoI also released a total of Nu 939 M under the program grant and for two project-tied-assistance projects.
